How to Find Your IP Address on iPhone
Short answer: for your local IP, open Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the (i) next to your network and read IP Address. For your public IP (the one websites see), open the home page in Safari.
You have two IP addresses
People asking "what is my iPhone's IP address" usually mean one of two different things:
- Local (private) IP: the address your router gives your iPhone on your home or office network. It usually starts with
192.168.,10.or172.16–172.31. Only devices on the same network can see it. - Public IP: the address the rest of the internet sees. It belongs to your ISP or mobile carrier and is shared by everything on your connection.
Find your local IP address on Wi-Fi
- Open Settings and tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap the (i) icon to the right of the network you are connected to.
- Look under IPv4 Address. IP Address is your iPhone's local address, and Router is your router's address.
If your network uses IPv6, scroll further down to IPv6 Address.
Find your IP address on cellular
iOS does not show a cellular IP address anywhere in Settings. Carriers assign it automatically, and many share one public address between lots of customers. To see the public address your carrier is using, turn off Wi-Fi (or enable Airplane Mode and then turn cellular back on) and reload our home page.
Find your public IP address
Open iphoneipaddress.com in Safari. Your public IP address is shown at the top, along with your ISP and approximate location. The result changes depending on whether you are on Wi-Fi or cellular.
Troubleshooting
My IP address starts with 169.254
That means your iPhone could not get an address from the router. Toggle Wi-Fi off and on, tap Renew Lease in the same screen, or restart the router. See our guide to changing your IP address.
My location looks wrong
IP location comes from your ISP's records and is often a nearby city. If you use iCloud Private Relay or a VPN, websites see the relay's or VPN's location instead. See how hiding your IP works.
I only need my router's address
It is on the same Wi-Fi screen. Our router IP guide covers what to do with it.
